Why I started this newsletter

When I began my renovation, I knew very little. There were many instances where I took steps back before moving forward. I encountered numerous challenges, some of which I discuss in my first post. I decided to write about my experiences because I don't want others to go through the same struggles. If you’re curious about how it began, please read my story below.

What makes this content different?

In the realm of home design and renovation, there is an abundance of content but much of it is repetitive and some of it comes from manufacturers or tradespeople which can be biased. RenoQueen stems from my own struggles in trying to find clear and relevant information. I have a background in architecture and design and am interested in historic preservation.

  • I write for homeowners so they can be better informed.

  • While information on many of these topics is widespread, articles often lack clarity, fail to provide essential details, or exhibit bias due to commercial interests.

  • I explain technical concepts in simple terms.

  • I speak with professionals and consult product manufacturers to validate information.

Publication frequency

Currently, I publish an average of three comprehensive posts per month. An average post is about almost 2000 words and requires between 8-20 minutes of reading time. I would love to post more but I am still facing challenging circumstances.
Paid Monthly: 2 paid + 1-2 free + entire archive
Free Monthly: 1-2 free + free archived posts

Why subscribe?

A lot of research, vetting and hard work goes into every single newsletter; research and review, speaking to experts and manufacturers, finding and editing photographs, and design work for additional graphics and charts. If I didn’t do all this work, my content would mirror many home sites and contain inaccuracies which I see everywhere.

The cost of an annual subscription amounts to less than $6 per month, a small investment that I believe will result in substantial savings and less headaches throughout the construction process. If you love the content and find it valuable, please consider a paid subscription. By subscribing, you also help in alleviating the debt and dedicate more time to the newsletter.

If the cost is going to create financial stress, please do stay on the free list, the quality of the free content is the same. I am grateful to every reader regardless of whether you are a free or paying subscriber. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
