Always love hearing from you and thank you. Thank you for the update! I didn't think anything other than you might be busy - that's when people go silent so I understood! We'll talk when you free up!
Wow. I so appreciate hearing this backstory! And I'm truly sorry to hear that the case continues to drag on.
You clearly DO know your subject - so much more than the average person out there giving advice on social media. Would you consider writing a more personal piece as a guest post on Finding Home? How you chose the house you're still trying to renovate - or - what it's like to live in a home with renovation in limbo (do you feel your life is also in limbo somewhat?) - or - with all you know, in the end, what IS home for you? (just some ideas) Thanks for the shout-out. Hey, if nothing else, home is knowing you're not alone!
Glad you exercised the power of ex-communication. No one needs that kind of negativity! Here's to a new year and movement forward!
Thank you for your kind comments. I don't write posts like this. I now understand that if I don't share, people won't know what's going on with my life and how that can impact the post writing.
I am honored and humbled to be asked. I would love that and thank you. I'll reach out in mid-Feb if that would work for you. It will be after the next round of legal paperwork is due. I love the topics you suggested. I was happy to share your Sub and others as I have enjoyed and learned so much from all of them.
Re the ex-communicating, I was being sarcastic but that fell flat. I clarified above and oops a lesson learned!
Great! February is fine. No rush. Whenever the time is right. As for communicating, sometimes it does have to be done. But I’m glad to hear you were able to take their criticisms kindly ☺️
Lovely, we will speak in Feb. I look forward to it.
The posts are serious but I am not a very serious person so I laugh at all the comments. They are hilarious and it's great to have honest feedback. Have a wonderful January.
Congratulations, love the humor, and thanks for the shout-out. Agree, writing complete articles about this stuff that are interesting and maybe even amusing is tough! A good challenge. Cheers! Here’s to your court case resolving at long last.
Thank you for always your kindness and fantastic suggestions. And the support. Look forward to see what you will write about this year. You covered a lot of ground this year and evolved the newsletter to seamlessly integrate a range of topics. Well done.
It takes longer than we think or maybe I am slower at it. But at some point if you keep at it there is always a lightbulb moment. You had some excellent posts and sometimes revisiting them might spark a new idea?
Thank you, Terry. It's been terrible when I look back.
I hired a 'construction' attorney and so did the other side and the judge supposedly has years of construction case experience but perhaps not familiar with the details of construction.
“My tenacity sometimes makes things so complicated and creates so much work that it can be really quite dumb.” —
I related to this line more than I would have liked too.
Also, it was good to hear about (because I didn’t know) but also kinda sad to hear about some of your struggles with the lawyers and litagtion process — I wouldn’t wish that on anyway. But I am glad you’ve been able to find a way to write about your experience.
Also, fuck the naysayers! Whether this is a dream of yours or not, I feel like quote is appropriate: “those who give up on their dreams discourage those who don’t”
And finally, thanks for the shout out!
I look forward to reading more of your work this year :)
I am glad you can relate. It's satisfying to do things you thought you couldn't but really felt stupid after because it took so much time and energy. As time passes you also feel ok about accepting yourself and trying to learn from it.
Thank you for your empathy. The case has sucked and sucked the life out of me. It was supposed to be over several years ago and has dragged on and on partially due to the histrionics from the other side. I am trying to write without writing about the case. I'm really relieved that it's coming to an end.
Btw I was joking about my friends. While my content has to be serious, I'm not a humorless person who can't take insults. I've edited my post now because a few people interpreted that bit differently than I intended.
I agree regarding naysaying in general and the only person to gauge against is yourself. If multiple friends give you the same feedback there is usually some truth and it's time to listen and adapt.
Thank you for writing such great posts. I too am looking forward to reading more of your work and grateful for your presence. I appreciate you and wishing you a wonderful 2024!
Yes, I’ve definitely given too much time and energy to things that I felt I needed to ‘conquer’ only to realise once I’d done so that it really wasn’t worth it. But as you say, we learn from such things.
Ohhh, hahaha whoops. For a second I did think you might have been being sarcastic but I wasn’t sure, and then when I wrote my comment the naysayers quote just sorta came out.
But yes, I also agree with what you said, only gauge against yourself and when enough people are all giving you similar advice it’s probably time to change something — wise words.
Do people not understand they can scroll past things they don't like, or unsubscribe from them without being pains in the ass. No, they don't. That's rhetorical, but le sigh.
"I might write serious posts because there isn’t much that can make insulation funny." — Is that a challenge?
Jokes aside, thanks for the mention <3 I love how you put knowledge, humor and thoughts together.
Ah, also, I am not ghosting you by emails. Just went through a lot of stuff here recently, I will follow up shortly - ◡ -

Thanks so much! Who knows where it'll go? 😊

I didn't realise you had this awful litigation going on. Aren't there construction specialist lawyers? I suppose they'd cost a fortune though.
Thank you, Terry. It's been terrible when I look back.

That was a joke but maybe i'm a bad writer and that fell flat.
Ah. I don’t understand sarcasm.
The written word is hard to interpret. Same reason why the tone in emails can be confusing. Thank you for your help always. Happy New Year!
That's where emojis come in
Ooh that's a good tip. You always have funny ones.
